Synopsis
By Francis Poulenc, this is the most powerful fictionalized version of the story of the Martyrs of Compiègne, Carmelite nuns who in 1794 in the midst of the French Revolution, were guillotined in Paris for refusing to renounce their vocation.  A most powerful dramatic telling of this amazing story, told by the nuns in twelve scenes, and sung in English.

Synopsis
Directed by Timothy Nelson. After being scolded by his mother in the beginning of the opera, a rude child throws a tantrum destroying the room around him. He is then surprised to find that the unhappy objects in his room come to life. The furniture and decorations begin to talk; even his homework takes shape as it becomes an old man. Sung in English.

Synopsis
By American composer Thomas Pasatieri, inspired by the play by Eugene O’Neill. The esteemed soprano Jennifer Cresswell will perform this one-woman opera accompanied at the piano by the singular Kathleen Kelly of the Metropolitan Opera. Charlotte, who “is in her early forties but looks sixty,” prepares breakfast for her husband, the unseen Alfred, while she recalls their married life in a litany of accusations, from alcoholism and indolence to arrogance and infidelity. Sung in English.
